Flavors of Oaxaca: Street Food & Mezcal Walking Tour

Discover the heart of Oaxaca through its vibrant street food scene on this guided walking tour through local markets, quiet corners, and beloved neighborhood stands. We’ll start the day with freshly made memelas, topped with asiento and quesillo, before weaving through the streets to try tamales steamed in banana leaves, tacos de barbacoa slow-cooked to perfection, and refreshing aguas frescas made from local fruits and herbs.

Along the way, you’ll sip tejate, the pre-Hispanic cacao and maize drink that has sustained generations, and learn about the cultural significance of each dish directly from the cooks who keep these traditions alive.

Our final stop brings us to Quiote Mezcalería in the historic Barrio Xochimilco, where you’ll relax and enjoy a curated mezcal tasting highlighting small-batch producers from across Oaxaca.
